Occupation:Horse Farm Owner Marital Status:Married Graduation Year:1971 Do you stay in close contact with any of your Classmates:1971 What have you been doing the past 40 years?:I went right to work after HS. Worked for 25 years or so, primarily in hospitals around Birmingham, administrative capacity. Typed an entire medical textbook for a professor at Samford during the 80's. I married my current (and only) husband, Bob Garzarek in 1982. We moved out to Shelby County to Chelsea and now Columbiana, so I could raise, train, show and breed horses. We also have a constant variety of dogs and cats, rescuing what we can. I also was a licensed trainer at the Birmingham Race Course when the horses were running and served as an officer with the Alabama Thoroughbred Association. Now downsizing my horses a bit, but have my original stallion (since 8 months old)and now 31, riding a great grandson. It was just meant to be for me. What are your hobbies and what do you really enjoy doing?:I love to cook, it's the only creative thing I do. Love fine wine and traveling with my sister, Becky to California wine country. Hoping to do more traveling and get to Europe and some exotic locales. Very interested in animal welfare/issues and the environment.

Upon graduation I joined The Northwestern Mutual as an agent and just completed my 37th year representing the company. We moved to Jacksonville,Florida in 1976. Where we have built our businesses (Lynn, a pharmacist owns a neighborhood pharmacy and I have my practice).We have raised two terrific children. Our son Alex age 24 is a CPA with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Manhattan and our daughter Lane age 19 is a rising junior at Auburn where she hopes to go to Vet school. What are your hobbies and what do you really enjoy doing?:Most of our free time has been centered around the children's activities, sports for Alex when he was younger and Lane's passion, horses as she is a competitive Hunter Jumper rider. We love our home and enjoy many good friends. Long beach walks on a weekely basis are a must. We also love to travel as time permits.

Got a degree in mathematics. Then got married and moved to Tuscaloosa while my husband was in grad school. We them moved to the Eufaula area for 10 years before ending back up in Tuscaloosa where we have been ever since. It took awhile before we were able to have children, but when we did we had 2 in less than 2 years. I stayed at home with them till they started school and started working as a bookkeeper after that and have been with the same company for 30 years now. I did go part time a few years ago and loving that. What are your hobbies and what do you really enjoy doing?:I enjoy hiking, gardening, camping and most anything outdoors. I belong to the Sierra Club, Master Gardeners, and the Alabama Wildflower Society.

Learned to play golf a little bit better (good enough to keep me playing any way) Life has been good to me I guess. I can't complain as no one has ever listened any way.
Hard to believe it's been 40 year's! Some things seem like just yesterday & some things, I just can't remember. I have made many friends over the past 40 yrs., but can't wait to see you all the guys & gals from 1969, 1970, & 1971 once again. What are your hobbies and what do you really enjoy doing?:Golf & travel. Visiting my friends on the weekends & just chilling out with some rest, relaxation, & a cold beer or a glass of wine. My doctor says it's good for my heart. (lol)

What have you been doing the past 40 years?:I graduated with a BSN in nursing from UAB in 77 and worked in oncology for 2 years. I became involved with hospice care in 1980 and have been a hospice nurse and nurse practitioner(MSN,1997,UAB)for the past 31 years. I have a 30 yr old son from my first marriage. I have been happily married to my wife Decie for the past 21 years. We have a 17 year old daughter who will graduate from Oak Mountain High school this year. What are your hobbies and what do you really enjoy doing?:I
lead a boring and quiet life just like I like it. I read a great deal. I
love my work. I like to travel when I can, spend as much time with my
wife as possible. We are very active in our church(St. Francis Episcopal
in Indian Springs).
