After graduation I spent 3 years at Auburn and then transferred to UAB to finish with a degree in Education. I taught in Birmingham, then married and moved to San Diego where I continued teaching. Following a divorce and some crazy years of travel and trying to figure things out, I picked up a Masters in Education at UAB and a degree in Paralegal Studies at the University of San Diego. I married again, and moved to Miami to began my career as a litigation paralegal which eventually included a move into paralegal management. I enjoyed this work very much and traveled between the firm's offices in Miami, Ft Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach to assist with expansion of the firm while carrying a full workload of litigation cases as a Senior Paralegal. My daughter was born in Miami in 1985. In 1999 I retired from paralegal work and returned to Birmingham to become the Business Manager in (what is now) 3 family businesses. Working inside a family business has been one of the biggest challenges in my life so far!
I enjoy being at home in Trussville with my 3 cats. I read all the time and have gone way beyond my 'school learning' via home studies to improve my business and communication skills as well as 'my self'. As long as I'm 'still around' I will be learning something new. I enjoy decorating, entertaining, writing and drawing. cooking, music and good movies. I never watch TV and I'm not one to constantly be connected with my computer. I practice yoga and I keep myself in good health. I am very 'spiritual' these days and love the peace and quiet of my home. That's about it!
I have been to 2 reunions and I am delighted that we are still young enough to party together! I am interested to know 'who I will connect with' this time. Send Barbara a Message

Attended UAB - PKA Little Sister - Married in July 1971, our son David, Jr. in Sept, 1972 - 7 years in Product Mgt. in Children's Clothing Mfg. - "Be Mine" line (Bham) Lived in Long Beach, Miss - Forest Va, Greensboro, NC, Athens, Ga, Lake Oconee, Ga, until today in Southport-Bald Head Island, NC - David's an Metallurgical Engineer - worked by contract. This is my 17th year in Real Estate on a beautiful island - Bald Head Island. I drive a Golf cart everyday... Our son and daughter in law, Jennifer gave us 2 Beautiful grandson's - Gus and Charlie Dunn! I LOVE being a GG. Looking forward to seeing everyone - if we can make it...

1 grandson due on Christmas Eve!
40 years in 100 words. Went to Auburn. Met a girl. Moved to California. Married the Auburn girl. Lived on the LA beach and then in San Diego for 6 years. Many adventures, including sailing, mountains, and ocean sunsets. Moved to Huntsville; 30 years. Two children, both married, happy, and prosperous. Daughter lives in Homewood (with my first grandchild due in December!!) and a son is in Arizona. Memories focus on family outings: boating, skiing, camping, hiking, mountains, and beaches. A lot of whitewater kayaking. Designed and built our new home. A heart attack 5 years ago; with the hospital record of having a catheter in my heart within 43 minutes after entering the ER!
Read Jimmy Buffett book "A Pirate Turns 50" and followed him to Caribbean for sailing charter vacation on my 50th birthday. See picture for recent island adventure. Now it's time to plan 60th birthday, perhaps a surfing camp on the Oahu North Shore!

After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1974, I moved to Atlanta where I worked in advertising producing radio and TV commercials for 15+ years. after our 20th SV reunion, I began law school at Georgia State University. In 1991, Eddie and I married and in 1993 we moved to Snd Francisco, where I got to take another bar exam. In 1995 we returned to Georgia and made our home on St. Simons Island where I have been practicing family law ever since. In 1998, I gave birth to our daughter (I don't have to tell you how old I was...) . Hanna is a rising senior at the University of Georgia. It has been a fun couple of football seasons :)

Forty years is such a long time! I'll work backward. My husband, Alan, and I just celebrated our 30th anniversary, on the day our oldest son, Scott, got married. We live in NJ; been here about 12 years. Currently I'm working for GlaxoSmithKline in Lancaster, PA. I stay in Lancaster during the week and come home to NJ on weekends. GSK manufacturers vaccines, and I manage the safety and security programs at that site. I've been with GSK for 6 months - formerly I was with Bristol-Myers Squibb for a number of years as their Biosafety Officer. Alan has been with BMS for over 25 years as a pharmaceutical scientist.
Dan, our youngest at 22, just graduated from Temple Univ. in film editing and has moved to Los Angeles to make his fortune. Scott, 27, graduated from Rutgers in computer science. He works for Accenture. His new bride, Trisha, is also a computer scientist.
We moved to NJ from Seattle where our children were raised. We all loved the Northwest and thought we would stay forever, but opportunities led us away. I worked in public health while there.
Before Seattle, we were in Illinois for 3 years, and Boston before that. Alan and I met at the CDC in Atlanta. He was a post-doc at Harvard and I was finishing my master's in microbiology from UGA. We married 6 months later and I moved to Boston.
It's hard to remember back this far, but I did undergraduate at Auburn and worked a couple of years before Georgia.
I love to ski and hope to retire in upstate NY.

unfortunately,not very many b/c i have not lived in b'ham since 1978.
went to Cumberland and then went active duty Army JAG for six yrs.(no, no f-16's or carriers, but i did get in a few helicopters) i passed the Ga. bar(several in fact) in 1983 and got a job w/ a "big" firm in columbus (about 15 lawyers then) adopted my son in 1988. divorced and re-married to a wonderful lady who is a programer for TSYS here in columbus. been in private,solo practice the last 12 years. Love columbus,great town fort benning is here and did 7 years of reserves ,primarily at ft.benning.achieved rank of major and got halfway thru C & GS before i decided it was time to get out(i could not ,practically, be deployed for a year
and no business back-up) spent 3 great years in colorado springs and traveled all over the western states grand canyon,4 corners,painted desert,petrified forest,yellowstone, grand tetons,etc. 3 yrs in augusta and got to the masters for all 3 yrs. been to dozens of music concerts ,including city stages, since the early 80's. went on a cruise for our honeymoon(2000) and fell in love w/ cruising.jennifer and i have been back every year since. love going to ruins and snorkeling in the islands of the caribbean. went thru rebuilding our home in 2005 after an electrical fire a week b-4 X-mas of 2004. NEVER EVER PLUG YOUR TREE IN TO A SURGE PROTECTOR!!! so fsr, its been a long ,strange and wonderous trip. i really look forward to renewing friendships from one of the best times i remember. ) reading,cooking,travel,music concerts,lake dale hollow& my garden helping my clients get positive results Send rick a Message

Married freshman year of college to Raymond. Worked for the Homewood Bd. of Ed. and then, the Vestavia Hills School System until we moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1996. We have 2 boys (38 & 33), both now married and raising their own families. In 2002, I became the Teaching Director for Community Bible Study and am currently serving in this ministry as Regional Director for the states of Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina. Raymond has worked in the mortgage industry for the last 33 years. (Enough said!) Looking forward to the reunion!!!

After SVHS, I attended Jeff State while working several different jobs. While working part-time @Loveman's Department Store I met my future wife Suzanne. We were married in 1973. We have 2 married daughters, Evelyn(Bo Coln)who live in the Huntsville area and Katherine(Daniel Jones) who live in West Palm Beach. Evelyn & Bo have 3 children: James David(4), Emma Kate(2) and Anderson(7mo). After Loveman's, I changed jobs for several years then went to work in the maintenance department for Parisian, still not sure which direction I wanted to go the rest of my life. Through the years Suzanne has been a great influence and encouraged me to better myself and pursue what I enjoyed most. That is construction. I went to UAB for business management, moved up into Store Planning & Construction @Parisian and thought I would be there forever. Well after 17 years @Parisian I lost my job when they sold to Proffitt's, etc., etc. I went to work for Aztec Construction(May of '97) who had been doing remodeling work for me while I was with Parisian.I completed the purchase of Aztec in 2009 and my partner & I moved our office to Warrior, so we both could be closer to our respective homes.
Suzanne & I have property on Smith Lake and plan on building our retirement home there. We travel to see our kids & grandkids as often as possible and love being at the lake in our free time.
