U.S. Army Single Again 1971 1971 Twenty one moves in the military. I started as a Private First Class in the Alabama National Guard and came on Active Duty in 1981. As the Army does, they sort of decided my path for me. I've been on most of the continents of the world and lived in a lot of them. I started working in the IT/computer/software application arena in 1975 and have remained in it. We can call ourselves experts but we never truly learn everything about this business. Somehow I either stuck with the Army or it stuck with me because after over 38 years, I'm still doing what I love.

I have close to 2000 folks working for me and we develop, acquire and field all the communication, computers, and software application needs to the deployed units. It's a lot of your taxpayer money (about $4B this year) but you get a good deal because I'm cheap and my workforce is extremely good at what it does.

NANCY LEE SHERK PRICE
Major General (Retired), U.S. Army
I played every sport that women were allowed in during my days in school. I sure wish we'd had Title IX back then but my love of sports set me up well for the military. I still enjoy working out but I've had to morph my sports as I've aged and as the "warranties keep running out" on certain parts. I still hike, jog, lift weights, and play golf whenever possible (not near enough). I am hiking rim to rim in 2020 and know my Peloton bike will get me in shape.
I look froward to seeing all my classmates at the reunion.  I left Birmingham in 1981 and returned in 2014. I have enjoyed reconnecting with some and love forward to reconnecting with others.  Send (Nancy) Lee a MessageSend (Nancy) Lee a Message

retail shop owner info@thesmockingbird.com Married 5 1969 9 1/2 1969 After graduating from Samford, I taught school for 4 yrs. while getting my MA in education at UAB. Then I began the next phase of life - having my first child. Then the next year, I had another one, and the next year another one!! Once I finally got them headed toward school, I began the idea of turning my hobby into a business. I had learned to smock and sew and it was not only my "therapy" but something I truly loved doing. The Smocking Bird was born 28 years ago, and we're still working hard in Homewood on Linden Avenue. We teach lots of classes, sell fabric and sewing machines.

After a divorce, I remarried 20yrs. ago, and gained another daughter and another son. They have blessed us with 9 grandchildren, 7 girls and 2 boys. Seven of the eight are 7 and under. Number 10 is due early January 2012. There is never a dull moment at our house. And holidays are THE BEST !!

We have been so blessed to have a wonderful business that I love going to every day. God has given us so many ways to minister for Him in our shop.
I still get to "teach" in all of the classes that we teach - so our mission continues.
Our family loves the beach - the sun and the water. One of the most fun times we have had was to take a family cruise - all adults -to the
Carribean last year. It was so much fun to have all of our children and their spouses with us. As you can understand, it's hard to have an adult conversation with 9 little ones underfoot. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Thank you to all of you who have worked so hard to put this reunion together. I know it will be fun with lots of great memories.
