Contractor brownmechanical.com Married 3 5 Working in the contracting business, having children and grandchildren, boating, fishing and skiing. Ann and I have been married since 1976 and living in the same place since 1986. Amy lives in Huntsville and has 3 children, the oldest just graduated from High School - now there is an age reality check! Leigh Ann has a 3 year old, Caitlin and a new son named after his uncle Nicholas. What a joy. We lost Nick when he was a sophomore at Alabama to a ruptured spleen as a result of undiagnosed mononucleosis. Here is a link to the website for the foundation we started in his memory http://brownmechanical.com/nfpmf.htmln. We have learned alot in the past few years about what is really important. Family, friends and relationships mean more than anything else!
It has been fun working with the reunion committee. I am really looking foward to seeing everyone. Send Chip a MessageSend Chip a Message

Production Business Manager Married 2 None yet, waiting! I got married in 71 and am still happily married to him. We have 2 wonderful boys 28 & 30. The youngest is married to a kitchen/bath designer and he is a mechanical engineer at McWane. My oldest is a drummer still trying to "find himself". Hope it's soon! I was a stay at home mom until they were in school and loved every minute of it. I've worked as church secretary/bookkeeper, sales & catering for Holiday Inn, advertising for Moore-Handley, accounts manager for tile company and finally my dream job...advertising again for Martin Adv. Hope to retire here! My husband works for US Steel and ready for retirement! Quite a few health issues and I had a kidney transplant in 2003, getting a healthy kidney from my precious sister. Life is Good and God has blessed me more than I could ever have imagined. Each day is a gift and I thank Him for it. I love crochetting, knitting, reading and corvetting. We're members of MACC a local corvette club and we enjoy trips, local cruise-ins, etc.

I am actually class of '70 but some very insistent people persuaded me to join in the fun of 1969.  I truly hope to make the reunion although we may be out of town.  I thoroughly enjoyed the reunion meeting a few weeks ago.  I think both 69 & 70 were awesome years and met some great, great people.

Real Estate Development & Investment www.porterproperties.com Married 3 2 grandsons and another due just before the reunion Right out of Auburn I worked in Birmingham in the real estate appraisal field. In 1983 I moved back to Auburn and got into the real estate development business along with appraisals. We expanded the appraisal business to four offices in Ala/GA and did commercial property appraisals around the SE and nationally. Over the last fifteen years I've focused on development and acquisitions primarily of apartment, warehouse, assisted living and hotel properties. I declared myself semi-retired several years ago and took seminary classes from Asbury. The last couple of years I've been back working full time trying to keep/get the real estate "cart out of the ditch." Currently a partner and I have purchsed an old nursing home out of bankruptcy and are neck deep in renovating the facilities and the service. I play a little golf, snow ski every year or two, and spend time on Lake Martin with my wife and 10 yr old son and his friends. I enjoy reading and watching movies and cartoons. My current favorite is "The Penguins of Madagascar" cartoons. I've been a Lay Speaker in the Methodist Church for about 10 years and thoroughly enjoy preaching and teaching.

I am looking forward to getting back together - it's been too long. As the world seemingly falls apart around us, Gods gift of friendship is one thing that retains it's value. It will be good to reconnect.

U.S. Army Single Again 1971 1971 Twenty moves in the military. I started as a Private First Class in the Alabama National Guard and came on Active Duty in 1981. As the Army does, they sort of decided my path for me. I've been on most of the continents of the world and lived in a lot of them. I started working in the IT/computer/software application arena in 1975 and have remained in it. We can call ourselves experts but we never truly learn everything about this business. Somehow I either stuck with the Army or it stuck with me because after almost 36 years, I'm still doing what I love.

I have close 2000 folks working for me and we develop, acquire and field all the communication, computers, and software application needs to the deployed units. It's a lot of your taxpayer money (about $4B this year) but you get a good deal because I'm cheap and my workforce is extremely good at what it does.

NANCY LEE SHERK PRICE
Brigadier General, U.S. Army
I played every sport that women were allowed in during my days in school. I sure wish we'd had Title IX back then but my love of sports set me up well for the military. I still enjoy working out but I've had to morph my sports as I've aged and as the "warranties keep running out" on certain parts. I still hike, jog, lift weights, and play golf whenever possible (not near enough). I prefer an active lifestyle to letting any grass grow under my feet. I have no children but I have two cats that think they are dogs.
I look froward to seeing all my classmates at the reunion.  I left Birmingham in 1981 and have only seen a few folks since then.  I sure wish we had the internet back then but reconnecting now is wonderful. Send (Nancy) Lee a MessageSend (Nancy) Lee a Message

retail shop owner info@thesmockingbird.com Married 5 1969 9 1/2 1969 After graduating from Samford, I taught school for 4 yrs. while getting my MA in education at UAB. Then I began the next phase of life - having my first child. Then the next year, I had another one, and the next year another one!! Once I finally got them headed toward school, I began the idea of turning my hobby into a business. I had learned to smock and sew and it was not only my "therapy" but something I truly loved doing. The Smocking Bird was born 28 years ago, and we're still working hard in Homewood on Linden Avenue. We teach lots of classes, sell fabric and sewing machines.

After a divorce, I remarried 20yrs. ago, and gained another daughter and another son. They have blessed us with 9 grandchildren, 7 girls and 2 boys. Seven of the eight are 7 and under. Number 10 is due early January 2012. There is never a dull moment at our house. And holidays are THE BEST !!

We have been so blessed to have a wonderful business that I love going to every day. God has given us so many ways to minister for Him in our shop.
I still get to "teach" in all of the classes that we teach - so our mission continues.
Our family loves the beach - the sun and the water. One of the most fun times we have had was to take a family cruise - all adults -to the
Carribean last year. It was so much fun to have all of our children and their spouses with us. As you can understand, it's hard to have an adult conversation with 9 little ones underfoot. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Thank you to all of you who have worked so hard to put this reunion together. I know it will be fun with lots of great memories.
